Tour Description

Gombe safari is beautiful and unique adventure as it is among the few places in the world where chimpanzee can be seen in their Natural habitat. Gombe National Park is accessible by boat from Kigoma. The scenery is stunning, with most of the 16 major valleys containing swift streams that flow all year. The lush rainforest makes for a beautiful hiking environment, while lakeshore and clear water offer good beach activities.

ITINERARY

Upon arrival, you will be taken to Ujiji Village where you will visit Doctor Livingstone Memorial Center and then on to Kibirizi Port for your boat ride to Gombe National Park. You will be picked up and driven to the rest house for a hot lunch and then out for an evening Chimpanzee trek in the forest. Gombe Stream’s main attraction is obviously the chimpanzee families that live protected in the park’s boundaries. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests including colobus monkey, baboon, forest pig, dik dik, and various tropical birds inhabit the dense forest. Overnight at Mbali Mbali Gombe Lodge.
After an early breakfast you will take off for an amazing morning chimpanzee tracking in the forest. You will also visit Kakombe Waterfalls which is among the best attractions in the park. If time allows, you can climb Jane’s Peak where you will have a chance to enjoy the view of the park. Overnight at Kasekela Tented Camp
After breakfast you will take off for chimpanzee trekking in different valleys, do walking in the forest, and visit Mkenge Water Wall. In the afternoon you will return to the lodge for lunch, pack your stuff and transfer back to Kigoma Town in the evening. Overnight at Kasekela Tented Camp

The morning after breakfast, with picnic lunch boxes, relax at the beach while waiting for a transfer boat at 12:00 noon, ready for transfer back to the airstrip for catching your charter flight back to Dar es Salaam or Arusha city at 5:30pm.
