ITINERARY

Your adventure begins in Dar es Salaam with a transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Kigoma. Upon arrival, you'll be met by your driver and transferred by car to Kalilani Village, a journey of approximately 4 to 5 hours. Here, your boat will be waiting to take you on a scenic 2 to 3-hour transfer across Lake Tanganyika to Mahale Mountains National Park. Arriving in the late afternoon, you can settle into your accommodation, enjoy a refreshing swim in the lake, and watch the sunset over Africa’s deepest lake.
After breakfast at 8:00 AM, embark on guided chimpanzee trekking adventures deep in the forest. The hike takes you to the chimps' habitation areas, allowing for close encounters with these fascinating primates. Trekking conditions vary, but the experience of observing wild chimpanzees in their natural environment is unforgettable.
